Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how DinkFox("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our websites, mobile applications, and related services (the "Service"). It should be read together with our Terms of Use.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use the Service, and limited technical information needed to operate and secure the Service.

  • Account and authentication. When you register or sign in (for example with email or a third-party identity provider), we collect identifiers such as your email address and authentication data processed by our authentication provider.
  • Profile and preferences. You may provide profile details such as your name, display or preferred name, public handle, avatar, date of birth, general location fields (for example ZIP or country), skill level, optional DUPR-related fields, time zone, travel radius, preferred days and times, and other fields offered on your profile or preferences screens. If you choose to use location-based features, your device may provide coordinates that we use to suggest privacy-safe location fields or nearby play.
  • Games and coordination. When you create, join, or interact with games, we process information you submit or generate in connection with those games—such as titles, schedules, roster and waitlist status, court booking details you or others record in the Service, game visibility settings, and related coordination data.
  • Groups, chat, and polls. If you use groups, invitations, messaging, polls, galleries, photos, attachments, or similar features, we store the content you submit and metadata needed to display threads, media, membership, permissions, and results to participants.
  • Venues and local play. Venue names, addresses, reviews, reports, court layout images, photos, activity signals, favorites, corrections, and similar information you or others contribute may be stored to power discovery, maps, local-play lists, and venue-related features.
  • Analytics and recommendations. We process game, roster, booking, group, venue, and profile activity to provide dashboards, performance summaries, recommendations, rankings, filters, and operational insights.
  • Notifications and announcements. We process notification preferences, delivery status, and in-app or email content needed to send alerts you request or operational messages we are permitted to send. Announcements may use audience settings such as groups, location fields, roles, or other eligibility criteria.
  • Support and safety. If you contact us, report a problem, or submit a report about content or conduct, we collect the information you provide (including optional attachments or descriptions) and related support records.
  • Technical data. Like most online services, our servers and providers may automatically receive data such as IP address, device and browser type, mobile device information, app version, general location derived from IP, timestamps, and diagnostic logs when you use the Service.

2. How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service and its features;
  • Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and prevent fraud or abuse;
  • Show rosters, games, venues, groups, and other content to the users who are meant to see it;
  • Personalize discovery, local play, recommendations, filters, analytics, and dashboard summaries;
  • Send transactional messages, notifications you opt into, and service-related communications;
  • Respond to support requests and enforce our Terms of Use and policies;
  • Comply with law and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users and the Service.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these situations:

  • With other users as needed for the Service to function—for example, displaying your profile or preferred name to people in a game or group, showing organizer or host information, showing venue contributions, reviews, scores, chat attachments, group gallery photos, or publishing content you choose to make visible.
  • With service providers who assist us in hosting, database and authentication infrastructure, email delivery, security monitoring, and similar processing, subject to confidentiality and security obligations.
  • For legal reasons if we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DinkFox, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, where user information may be transferred as part of that transaction as permitted by law.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, session management, security, and basic functionality. If we introduce optional analytics or marketing cookies, we will describe them here and, where required, obtain your consent before they are used.

5. Retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and whether it is still required for a legitimate purpose. You may request deletion of your account as described below, subject to legal exceptions.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update much of your profile and preferences directly in the Service. For other requests (including account deletion where available), contact us using the link below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to investigate and delete such information where required.

9. International users

If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate, which may have different data protection rules than your country.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Where changes are material and we are required to do so, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent as applicable.
